About the Project

The EU High Level Group of Experts on Literacy paints the complete picture: "An estimated 20% of adults lack the literacy skills they need to function fully in a modern society’’. The LiRe2.0 project is expected to address low achievement in basic skills through more effective teaching methods and develop basic and transversal skills by using innovative methods. It is funded by the European Commission and it will be completed in 2017.

ELearning

The aim of LiRe 2.0 is to develop an online toolkit and online training materials, which will provide innovative pedagogical methods, best practice guidelines and implementation strategies towards scalable use of ICT for reading promotion, and an assortment of material and resources specifically regarding the use of Web2.0 tools for reading promotion.

Research

A critical review of literature will take place in order to gather all available know-how regarding effective reading promotion strategies for students aged 10-18, with an emphasis on reluctant and/or struggling readers. Once the research phase is completed, the collective report with information on the state-of-the-art in all partner countries will be made available here.
