LMETB

Louth Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB) is a statutory education and training authority established 1st July 2013 under the Education and Training Boards Act 2013. It is comprised of the amalgamated services of two former Vocational Education Committees (VEC) – Louth VEC and Meath VEC respectively.
LMETB is committed to excellence and innovation in the education of young people and adults through the provision of dynamic services delivered by professional staff. As the principal state education authority in the counties of Louth and Meath, LMETB employs over 2,200 staff. It is highly committed to the provision of innovative and imaginative education services throughout the educational facilities it manages. This includes 18 Post Primary schools, one Community National school, 2 Post Leaving Certificate Colleges, 8 Youthreach Centres, 1 Regional Skills Training Centre and an extensive range of Adult Services that include Adult Literacy Services, Community Education, Back to Education Initiative, VTOS and Adult Guidance.
LMETB have a strong record of innovative practice in our schools and centres of education with some gaining international recognition for innovation in education. We work both nationally and locally in partnership with all schools, agencies and organisations to provide a collaborative and coherent program of educational opportunities for students at all levels. LMETB also has extensive experience of coordinating and participating in numerous EU and nationally funded projects.

CARDET

CARDET is one of the leading research and training centers in the eastern Mediterranean region with global expertise in project design and implementation, project management, training and e-learning. CARDET has completed numerous projects relating to the development of adult and vocational training initiatives in the areas of financial literacy, innovation and entrepreneurship. Members of its team and board represent European and International Higher education institutions, training centers and international organizations, and have in-depth knowledge of the adult training sector and financial literacy area while CARDET focuses in the promotion of social justice and social progress. CARDET brings together an international team of experts with decades of global expertise in adult training, capacity building, curriculum development, social entrepreneurship, vocational training, design thinking, innovation, education research, evaluation, and human resource development. Members of the CARDET team have successfully participated in more than 100 projects in more than 30 countries, several of which were supported by the European Commission, the United Nations Development Program, Microsoft, The Commonwealth of Learning, international agencies and governments from around the world.

IPCB

The Castelo Branco Polytechnic Institute (IPCB) is a public higher education institution in Portugal. The Higher School of Education (Escola Superior de Educação - ESE) is one of IPCB’s faculties and some of its staff is to be directly involved in the LIRE 2.0 project through its graduation and post-graduation programmes in teacher training, sports and social education and through the IPCB’s Interdisciplinary Language, Culture and Education Centre (CILCE). ESE and CILCE are experienced in applied research in the areas of teacher education, intercultural education, foreign languages, reading promotion and children’s and young adult literature. ESE has an extensive educational network in the Beira Baixa region, with Spanish institutions involved in teacher training and reading promotion, and with European education institutions through its many EU-funded projects in the above areas. ESE has a long experience in participating in national and international as well as European-funded projects in the areas of reading promotion (BARFIE – Books and Reading for Intercultural Education; EPBC-ESET – European Picture Book Collection – European School Education Training; EDM REPORTER – European Digital Media Reporter; EUMOF – European Mobility Folktales, AQUA NARRABILIS – NARRation – Acquisition of Basic skills In LIbraries and Schools; IDPBC – Identity and Diversity in Picture Book Collections.

UPIT

University of Piteşti (UPIT) is a state university situated in the Southern part of Romania, in the Argeş County (120 kilometers from Bucharest). It has around 10,000 students. UPIT provides educational, training and research services, being an intellectual and academic community accredited by national and international quality agencies.
The areas in which the university is active are: education & training; scientific & applicative research; guidance & counseling; professional orientation; international cooperation in different fields; publishing activities. University of Piteşti has about 800 staffs (academic and non-academic personnel). Its structure is composed of 11 faculties providing Bachelor, Master and PhD study programmes (www.upit.ro).
The faculties are organized in departments. Beside faculties and departments, UPIT has also specialized units (Research Institute, Business and Technological Transfer Incubator, Institute for Training and Performance, Center for International Cooperation). It has previously participated and continues to be currently involved in a large number of transnational researches, mobility or strategic partnership projects (see www.cppdd.ro ). UPIT represents a strong educational factor for the SMEs in the region, which usually search its support in solving their economical, technological or managing problems. UPIT has also developed a collaborative network of partners which interconnects the university with the main employers and the local economic agents in the region.

Doukas School

Doukas School is a K-12 educational Institution, with educational and athletic facilities amongst the best in design and construction, offering to its 1,600 student body one of the finest educational and athletic programs in the country. Since 1997, Doukas School organizes the Web-based Panhellenic Student Competition LYSIAS that attracts, on average, 30,000 student participations per year.
Doukas School has received many awards for the innovative practices it is implementing in the teaching process. In 2011, it was identified as Pathfinder School by Microsoft for its innovative educational practices and its potential to create scalable and replicable educational transformation that can influence schools within Greece and around the world. In 2012, it was selected as Mentor School by Microsoft, for the year 2012-2013. Lastly, Doukas School became Microsoft Case Study in 2012, for the implementation of 1:1 Computing in classroom.

Doukas School, is the first educational establishment in Greece that has been awarded in 2012 the award “Recognised for Excellence” 4 stars, of the European Foundation for Quality Management (E.F.Q.M.).

Ferraris-Brunelleschi

Started up since October 1st 1970 (Presidential Decree No. 1182, 03/11/1972), IIS "Ferraris-Brunelleschi" covers a large area, with several municipalities. Students and alumni come both from the complex socio-economic area of the lower Val d'Elsa and from Empoli's area, where the School has become a reference educational point, hence developing a strong partnership with the socio-economical activities of the district.
